This interior painting features wisteria and orioles, capturing the vibrant life of late spring. Wisteria clusters hang like a waterfall, winding down from the flask's shoulder with a gradient of purples that creates a dreamlike effect. A pair of orioles perches among the vines, their golden feathers standing out vividly against the sea of purple blossoms. The artist skillfully utilizes the flask's curved interior to give the wisteria a natural three-dimensional quality, evoking the scent of flowers and the sound of birdsong.

Wisteria and orioles are iconic motifs in Chinese flower-and-bird painting. Wisteria symbolizes nobility and romance, while the oriole represents joy and freedom. In my micro-painting work, I blend these two beautiful images into a single composition, creating a poetic universe within a tiny space. With each turn of the snuff bottle, the wisteria unfolds in new forms—like a living scroll that moves with every rotation.
