Delicate Craft No.1

A peony in full bloom is depicted inside the teapot using fine-brush, heavy-color painting. Petals are layered and shaded, transitioning from pale white to crimson; leaf veins are outlined and filled with delicate strokes; stamens are dotted with gold powder. Every detail is rendered with exquisite precision, conveying grace and elegance.

Gongbi is the art of slowness. A single peony requires dozens of layers of shading, each one waiting until the previous layer is completely dry. In micro-painting, even your breathing must slow down; the steadiness of the brush tip comes from a calm mind.
